A Starchild Skull or just a hydrocephalic child?

The Starchild skull is an abnormal human-like skull which was found in Mexico. Its origin and nature are contested by scientists and paranormal enthusiasts.

The starchild skull came into the possession of Lloyd Pye, a writer and lecturer in the field of alternative knowledge, in February 1999. According to Pye, the skull was found around 1930 in a mine tunnel about 100 miles (160 km) southwest of the Mexican city of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, buried alongside a normal human skeleton which was exposed and lying supine on the surface of the tunnel.

The skull is abnormal in several aspects. A dentist determined, based on examination of the upper right maxilla found with the skull, that it was a child’s skull, 4.5 to 5 years in age. However, the volume of the interior of the starchild skull is 1600 cubic centimeters, which is 200 cm³ larger than the average adult’s brain, and 400 cm³ larger than an adult of the same approximate size. The orbits are oval and shallow, with the optic nerve canal situated at the bottom of the orbit instead of at the back. There are no frontal sinuses. The back of the skull is flattened, but not by artificial means. The skull consists of calcium hydroxyapatite, the normal material of mammalian bone.

Carbon 14 dating was performed twice, the first on the normal human skull at the University of California at Riverside in 1999, and on the Starchild skull in 2004 at Beta Analytic in Miami, the largest radiocarbon dating laboratory in the world. Both independent tests gave a result of 900 years ± 40 years since death. DNA testing in 1999 at BOLD, a forensic DNA lab in Vancouver, British Columbia found standard X and Y chromosomes in two samples taken from the skull. BOLD was unable to extract any DNA from the maxilla.Further DNA testing at Trace Genetics, which unlike BOLD specializes in extracting DNA from ancient samples, in 2003 recovered mitochondrial DNA and determined that the child had a human mother, though it was not the child of the skull found with it. Its mother did belong to a known Native American haplogroup, haplogroup C. However, useful lengths of nuclear DNA for further testing could not be recovered. Later testing in 2004 at the Royal Holloway Institute at the University of London revealed unexplained “fibers” in the bone of the skull and a reddish residue in the cancellous bone, neither of which are known or recorded to exist prior to the discovery.

Paranormal Interest

Despite criticism from established science, the skull has gathered great interest within the study of UFOs and alien life forms. Some contend that it is the skull of a non-human, or a human/non-human hybrid, based on the shape of the skull bearing similarities to the common grey representation of aliens.

Lloyd Pye believes that the starchild skull is the result of genetic engineering by aliens, creating a human-alien hybrid. Other explanations have included the use of cradle boarding on a hydrocephalic child or Crouzon syndrome.

  1. Does anybody remember in the 60’s when science came through with advanced DNA blood testing? It was the biggest thing….The following information can be found if you research DNA testing and its history.
What I remember about it was The Smithsonian and United States had what they called The World Lotto. This was finding the closest living descendant to certain people.
    There was James Smithson Crypt.
He was the original man that started The Smithsonian Institute. It is now one of the worlds leading scientific research centers, the institute has facilities in eight different states and in the Republic of Panama.
    There was architect James Renwick.
He constructed what is known as The Castle. This is the Smithsonian Institution Building. There are beautiful buildings all around the world designed by him, mostly dating back to the 1847 and 1855.
    There was Jesus Christ.
Everyone was so excited to find the closest living descendant to the cloth. And I really like what the answer was…They never found one. There were so many people that closely matched it, it was concluded that we are all Gods’ children.
Then there was the StarChild skull.
This was from a skull found in the 1930’s in Mexico. It is said that a living being from somewhere else placed the two people in this mine tunnel. It was a Mother and her newborn child. The newborns skull is much different than that of normal humans. It contained residue and fibers, as well as, a red fiber string. The mother and newborn were killed at birth. More can be found on this at The Discovery Channels Web Page.

I can also remember the winners of these certain Lotto’s and others they tested. Wouldn’t it be nice to get a follow up on what these winners are doing today?
Wouldn’t there be some kind of proof if you were to look into who DJ Thomas is…or who won that World Lotto? You might be surprised at the answer and cooperative she is…

  2. Well “Star child” is just a theory, as every other theory it was believers and critics. As long as one disproves other with the help of some evidence, I think we can not acknowledging any one of then.

Has this been the case, our children would still be reading that earth is flat and every star/moon revolve around it. :)

    no aliens involved here…

People are so alienated from their own soul that when they meet their soul they think it comes from another star system.
