Cool Features of Chrome, Google’s Web Browser

Google recently launched “Chrome“, the Web 2.0 Web Browser. It has a lot of intuitive features like auto complete addressbar (now also available in Firefox 3) Few other features of Chrome are:

  1. It is an open source browser project.
  2. It has an innovative JavaScript Virtual Machine for better performance.
  3. It has borrowed Opera’s Speed dial and auto complete feature of Firefox 3.
  4. Sports a very cool inverted tabs.
  5. It warns in case of a malware and/or a phishing attempt, just like a firewall.
  6. But one thing Google forgot in Chrome if the support for XML :(

  1. I wonder how could Google have missed out on support for XML. It is a standard now… If you still don’t know what I am talking about, try opening any of the following links in Chrome:

  2. Hey Andrew,

We all hope that this is just the top of the iceberg. I think google will add few more features and plugins to Chrome shortly.

  3. It’s all about speed baby.

Am test driving Chrome right now and, so far, it kicks the backside of IE (7). For some reason Firefox never won me over so I’m not feeling the missing plug-in pain expressed extensively above.

    Good to see more Features

  4. Well, chrome has this “incognito” mode. If you open a window in incognito mode, everything you type and search would be private and will not appear on Google’s logs/history/cache.

Google can expect that much trust, or can they? :)

  5. Sounds like a good browser but, I think I will hold off on downloading chrome, after reading about the terms of service privacy issue.

  7. Actually, chrome is quite standards compliant. And has many more built-in features than FF.

Hope more features are coming soon

    Thanks
