Well I was a happy and proud owner of Nokia N95 for almost 2 years. It was all going pretty smooth until my microphone starting giving me some problem. So I visited one of the local Nokia Support Center. After waiting for almost 2 hours in a queue I got my chance to talk to the technical support executive. He looked at my handset and after finding out that it was out of warranty, he asked me to go to another Nokia Support Center. But, when I insisted, he noted my contact information and told me they (support center) will get back to me as soon as they have tools to test the battery.
So I tried my luck at another Nokia Support Centre. But this time they simply refused to repair my handset. The reason was amazingly pathetic. They told me that as my Handset is out of warranty, Nokia has given them the right to refuse any such case.
I did not go there to get a free repair or replacement. All I wanted was to fix the minor glitch in my handset. At present I have no other option but get it repaired from a Unauthorized Support center. If Nokia can not ever value a customer who spent over $500 on a handset, then I am amazed what treatment would a basic handset owner would be getting. I would make sure to sell off this handset as soon I get it fixed.
My message to all my friends and relative in India is simple, sell of the damn Nokia handset before it is out of warranty or be prepared to be treating as an outcast. Thank you Nokia – India, you should get an award in customer satisfaction.
